Jonathan Perry

Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Jonathan Perry’s career as a psychologist and a psychotherapist arose from his experiences with family mental illness during his childhood. During the last several years of his tenure at the University of Arkansas’s Counseling Center, he became the “go-to” clinician for students with bipolar disorder. In addition to individual psychotherapy, he also served those students by facilitating several bipolar support groups, and these experiences led to his current specialization in diagnosing, treating, and managing cases of bipolar disorder. This work led him to develop his Bipolar Wellness Program and his Bipolar Wellness Groups model, an integral part of the program. A highly experienced presenter of professional programs, Dr. Perry is eager to share his passion for serving the manic-depressive population with other professionals and with the lay public. In this way he has come full circle, realizing symbolically his childhood desire to find healing for his mother, who suffered from bipolar disorder for her entire adult life. In this way his work is not only practice and profession, it really is his true vocation, in the most profound sense of the word.
